Why?

My daughter writes copy for fashion websites, and seems to be pretty good at it.
I come from a technical background; software development, so creative writing isn't something I'd normally entertain. But now I feel there may be stuff I have to say, despite the imposter syndrome I feel, that years of experience my offer.

So that's why I started to blog. But why the name?
My favourite book.
"Zen and The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" by Robert M. Pirsig

The content is a philosophical treatise on Quality, and what it means. The conversations describing its varied subjects take place in the head of a single person, but start with the American tradition of Chautauquas. These lectures were from knowledgeable experts in their subject, and used to entertain, enlighten, and enliven audiences to new ideas, sciences and arts..

Hence the name. I may not be an expert in all, or any, fields, but I can get the thoughts down on paper, and arrange them as I see fit. Hopefully illustrating a general arc of interest and displaying at least a little quality.
